Accountancy first steps…

Accountancy as a career choice has continued to perform strongly in Ireland even through economic turmoil. Recruitment remains strong in both practice and industry as well as salary growth continuing.

The pathway to becoming professional accountant takes several years of examinations and supervised training. This is a serious commitment on the part of the student but will ultimately pay off. For students who have a third level degree, the pathway may be shorter as accountancy institutes offer exemptions from their syllabus for relevant qualifications.

For those who are new to accountancy there is the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business. A 6-12 month programme which introduces you to Business, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. On successful completion of three computer based exams and an online ethics module, the learner is awarded an ACCA accredited diploma. The learner then has the option to continue their studies towards becoming a fully qualified professional accountant.

A professional accountant is a person who is a member of an accountancy body regulated by IAASA (Irish Auditing & Accounting Supervisory Authority). Cenit College/ Study Online offers courses for two of these professional bodies, ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CPA Ireland (Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland).

Only approved educators by these professional bodies can deliver their programmes. Cenit holds Gold Status approval from both of these bodies.

The ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business is your first step in starting your career in accountancy.

Founded in 2001, Study Online is a professional accountancy educator based in Kildare. We offer online lectures for students pursuing a career in accountancy. Our students and lecturers constantly achieve prizes for their academic achievements.
